What is wrong with this picture?

2012 October

What is wrong with this picture?

Nothing. This is the corrected version of the iconic image we devised for BMC Biology on its fusion with Journal of Biology in 2010. While we have felt justified in disregarding possible complaints about distortions, omissions and obfuscation, we could not ignore the error drawn to our attention by a recent addition to our Editorial Board: the crustacean has now changed places with the centipede. But it may be a little while before this restructuring is reflected in all representations of our image.
