Tmem10 is expressed during oligodendrocyte differentiation.
Primary oligodendrocytes were cultured for 5 days and expression levels of a novel transmembrane marker, Tmem10, were determined by immunofluorescence. Colocalization studies of Tmem10 (green) with myelin basic protein (red) indicated that Tmem10 was present in mature cells, where it was enriched in the rims and processes, and was found only to a lesser extent in the membrane sheets.
