Overexpression of myosin-Vb causes coalescence of peripheral endocytic compartments and inhibits perinuclear accumulation of transferrin

Overexpression of myosin-Vb causes coalescence of peripheral endocytic compartments and inhibits perinuclear accumulation of transferrin

The endocytic localization of transferrin (red fluorescence) is influenced by overexpression of full-length, wild-type myosin-Vb tagged with eGFP (green fluorescence) in HeLa cells. When transferrin was introduced after overexpression of myosin-Vb, transferrin was retained in the enlarged peripheral compartments (cell at lower right) instead of progressing to perinuclear compartments, as shown in the surrounding untransfected cells.
