Overexpression of SMN in HeLa cells stimulates formation of nuclear gems/Cajal bodies

Cells stably transfected with the SMN1 (survival of motor neurons 1) gene were double labeled for SMN protein (red) using a monoclonal antibody and for the nucleolar marker fibrillarin (green). DAPI (blue) was used to counterstain the nuclei.
