Preventive home visits postpone mortality – a controlled trial with time-limited results Klas-Göran Sahlen, Lars Dahlgren, Britt Mari Hellner, Hans Stenlund, Lars Lindholm BMC Public Health 2006, 6:220 (31 August 2006) Elderly people receiving two regularly scheduled home visits per year from health professionals have a mortality rate nearly half that of pensioners who do not receive any visits, but this effect disappears once the visit program ends.
