Early stage necrosis in AGS cells treated with peroxynitrite (300 μM) expressed as
a percentage of untreated controls. Both cat's claw (**P < 0.01) and green tea extract (*P0.05) were effective in preventing this form of cell death. Ascorbic acid treatment
was not associated with a significant reduction in cell death.
