A structural role for the PHP domain in E. coli DNA polymerase III
Two orthogonal views of the structure of E. coli DNA polymerase III PHP variant 3mPHP at 2.9 angstrom resolution. This variant has three histidine residues restored at positions 1, 4 and 9 to restore metal binding. The Pol III domains are coloured individually and the bound Zn2+ ions are shown as grey spheres.
