After the publication of this paper, the authors found that the newly released protein dataset for naked mole rat genome sequencing project has been greatly extended compared to the previous one they analyzed. In addition, the criteria used for the identification of orthologs between naked mole rat and rat were too strict to identify some genes including several cancer-related genes, leading to different results on several aspects. New data had been re-analyzed with the new criteria, and the new manuscript with the updated analysis will be submitted to a journal with the title: Single amino acid changes in naked mole rat may reveal new anti-cancer mechanisms in mammals, authored by Zhiyuan Yang, Yan Zhang and Luonan Chen.
