Free radical scavenging activity of the crude solvent extracts of bee pollen and corn
pollen. A. mellifera bee pollen and corn pollen were extracted sequentially with methanol (CMEb, CMEp),
DCM (CDEb, CDEp) and hexane (CHEb, CHEp) prior to assaying for free radical scavenging
activity using the DPPH assay in comparison to the reference standard of ascorbic
acid. Data are shown as the mean ± 1 SEM, derived from three independent repeats.
Means with a different letter are significantly different (p < 0.05).
