(A) Number of TRAP-positive osteoclasts at the bone-tumor interface. Six weeks after tumor cell inoculation bones were fixed in formalin, decalcified
in acetic acid and embedded in paraffin. Sections were stained for TRAP and counterstained
for Haematoxylin. Five fields of tumor for each specimen were randomly selected and
counted to determine the number of TRAP-positive multinucleated cells. Column bar
depicts mean ± SD of 5 animals per group. op < 0.1 (B) Representative sections of bone metastases stained for TRAP (Red) for detection
of osteoclast and counterstained with Haematoxylin (blue) for detection of tumor cells.
