Streptoccoccus suis strains were isolated from patients with acute bacterial meningitis admitted to the Hospital for Tropical Diseases between 1998 and 2008. The numbers above each column correspond to the total number of strains isolated in each year (the lone isolate from 1997 is not included. Diagonal, grey and white bars represent the proportion of strains resistant to tetracycline, erythromycin and chloramphenicol, respectively. Black bars represent the proportion of MDR strains (resistant to tetracycline, erythromycin and chloramphenicol).
