Mitochondrial DNA content was determined in XY and XX CGNs following OGD (2 h) and Reox (6–24 h). The ratio of mitochondrial: nuclear DNA was determined by quantitative real-time PCR and normalized to the data obtained from control normoxia cells. The fold change of mtDNA over control showed significantly increased mtDNA in XY neurons at 2 h OGD, which remained increased during the Reox phase as compared to XX CGNs.
