Running enhances cell proliferation in both non-lesioned and lesioned mice. (B) Running increased the number of BrdU-labelled cells in both the non-lesioned groups and lesioned groups (* p < 0.05) 24 hours after BrdU injection. Comparisons between the runners of in the lesioned group and the control group demonstrated that cholinergic denervation significantly potentiated the running-induced increase in BrdU-positive cells (#p < 0.05).
