The salivary (saliva) and gastric (G) stresses were applied to bacteria in MRS (control), or in medium supplemented by addition of 4.38 mM agmatine (agm), 10 mM tyrosine (tyr), or both (agm + tyr). The values are the average of 3 independent experiments. Vertical bars represent the standard deviation. Differences were assessed by Anova test with all samples. Different superscript letters associated with values of CFU mL-1 indicate statistically significant differences (P < 0.05).
