A) The figure shows the estimated power of detecting fragments from novel classes of qnr as a function of fragment length in nucleotides (averaged over the five different models used in the cross-validation). At a fragment length of 33 amino acids (approximately 100 nucleotides), the power to detect fragments from novel classes of qnr genes was estimated to 94% which increased to 100% for 100 amino acid long fragments.
