Disease-associated SNPs found within microRNA genes. We queried articles for all SNPs located in human pre-miRNA genes and their adjacent upstream/downstream 200 bp regions. 286 articles were found that were published before November, 2011. We reviewed these papers and selected 22 SNPs that were reported to be associated with diseases. aPubmed ids and SNP information are from dbSNP135. bmicroRNA positions are from mirBASE18. cThe MAF column reports the allele frequency of the minor allele from the four populations where it was the highest.
