Among 1017 transcripts that are translationally regulated after ingestion of P. falciparum-infected blood, 35 transcripts have putative or established immune-related function (ImmunoDB identities). In several cases, alternate splice variants of the same gene were detected. Most of the transcripts in this list displayed significant translational change when insignificant change was observed in mRNA levels [1 ≥ (log2mRNAInfected- log2mRNAUninfected) ≥ −1]. Some transcripts (i.e. DCR2) showed significant downregulation in transcription and upregulation in translation.
