Phylogenetic trees of JmjC subfamilies. (A) A phylogenetic tree of JmjC genes in KDM4, KDM5, PKDM7, PKDM8 and KDM9 subfamilies. The tree was constructed using JmjN and JmjC domain regions as well as
another region which is conserved among these five subfamilies. (B) A phylogenetic
tree of KDM3 subfamily. The tree was constructed based on RING domain, JmjC domain and other conserved
regions inside this subfamily. Proteins with mutated cofactor binding sites are indicated
by asterisk.
