Expression entropy (breadth of expression across tissues) based on data from the Norvatis
transcriptome atlas [45]shows that deeply conserved, snoRNA carrying host genes are generally more broadly
expressed than non-carrying genes. On the backdrop of a requirement for broad snoRNA expression, this may suggest a
selective advantage for this association. A total of 7022 genes were considered, based
on usable expression data and reliable correlation to EnsEMBL genes ids in release
58.
