Treatment with dexamethasone overrides the arecoline disruption of ZO-1 protein localization
in Ishikawa cells. Ishikawa cells were incubated with or without 1 μM or 10 μM of dexamethasone in
the presence or absence of 0.3 mM Arecoline. Cells were fixed in 3.5% formaldehyde
and stained for the localization of ZO-1 by indirect immunofluorescence or for nuclear
DNA by DAPI staining. Bars = 20 μm.
