Effect of varying β on the selection order of genes. The first ten genes selected for each value of β are shown here. The numbers correspond to the gene numbers for the colon cancer data set. Varying β does seem to affect the order in which the genes are selected. However, selection order is not indicative of the relative importance of genes since a greedy-selection method is being used. |
