At pattern sizes from 2-5 bp, context bias is greater in transposon sequence than in non-repetitive sequence (A). Among transposons, context bias is greater near genes than far from them (B). Conversely, context bias is never significantly greater near genes in non-repetitive sequence, with markedly higher context bias far from genes for 2 bp patterns (C). Context bias also differs between the most common classes of transposons, LINEs and SINEs (D).
