Antimicrobial resistance

              New Content Item

Disease-causing microorganisms have been the enemy of human health since ancient times. Although modern medicine and the discovery of antibiotics have given us a temporary victory, these microbes are much more difficult to deal with than we thought. Microbial resistance has become a major threat to human health in the 21st century. With the use of antibiotics, new resistant pathogens are emerging, and people are getting infected and dying every year.

In order to provide the public with a general understanding of the situation of drug-resistant pathogens, and to alert and prevent this threat, the BMC Series Journals dedicate their first focus issue in 2022 to research on antimicrobial resistance.
