Category Award Winners and Shortlists Announced for BioMed Central’s 6th Annual Research Awards

BioMed Central’s Annual Research Awards recognize the excellence in open access research published across our journals each year.
We are pleased to announce the winners for the ten award categories. These winning articles, selected by internationally renowned judges, have been chosen for their innovation and high-quality execution and discussion. These winners will automatically be shortlisted for the overall BioMed Central Research Award, the winner of which will be announced at the BioMed Central Research Awards ceremony.

Open Data Award 2011
The Open Data Award, sponsored by LabArchives, seeks to recognize researchers who have published in BioMed Central journals and have demonstrated leadership in the sharing, standardization, publication, or re-use of biomedical research data. The award is selected by a judging panel with particular interests in scientific data sharing and publication.
