World AIDS Day 2016

BioMed Central is pleased to support World AIDS Day. Despite much progress being made in recent years, according to UNAIDS and the WHO:

• There were 2.1 million new HIV infections worldwide in 2015
• 1.8 million children are living with HIV/AIDS globally
• An estimated 54% of those infected with HIV do not know their status

Substance Use and the HIV Care Continuum


We are pleased to invite submissions to a new thematic series, Substance use and the HIV care continuum, publishing in the journal Addiction Science & Clinical Practice. Edited by Dr P. Todd Korthuis and Dr Jennifer Edelman, the series seeks manuscripts that address the impact of drug and/or alcohol use on the HIV care cascade and specifically the role of substance use disorder screening and treatment as a means of meeting the 90-90-90 goal. HIV’s "Patient Zero" Exonerated
