Single-cell analysis: toward the clinic

Rapid advances have been made in the separation, detection and analysis of genomic and proteomic material in single cells, and this approach is now beginning to inform our understanding and treatment of disease. Genome Medicine presents a series of articles devoted to single-cell analysis, with commissioned comment and review articles, and original research, providing a state-of-the-art overview of this fast moving area and its clinical applications.
