Gut Pathogens is calling for submissions to our Collection on "Infection dynamics and antimicrobial resistance in the realm of climate change." In this collection, we will consider manuscripts that examine the impact of climate change on infection dynamics and antimicrobial resistance amongst enteric pathogens, solutions or mitigating factors. We will also consider epidemiological and mathematical modeling papers.

About the collection

Gut Pathogens is calling for submissions to our Collection on "Infection dynamics and antimicrobial resistance in the realm of climate change." 

The effects of climate change cannot be underestimated or indeed understood fully. This relates to all aspects of our lives, but in particular its contribution to the spread of infection and antimicrobial resistance places these already concerning issues into a much higher threat level.

Antimicrobial resistance is already expected to be the leading cause of death by 2050, and we have already seen emerging new and existing pathogens become health concerns in this decade due to climate change - impacted factors such as: migration, conflict and resource availability (e.g. clean water, food). In this collection, Gut Pathogens will consider manuscripts that examine the impact of climate change on infection dynamics and antimicrobial resistance amongst enteric pathogens, solutions or mitigating factors. We will also consider epidemiological and mathematical modeling papers.
