Sagrario Gómez-Cantarino: Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, Spain
Sagrario Gómez-Cantarino is a lecturer in the Department of Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, where she teaches Maternal and Child Nursing. She graduated from the University of Extremadura in 1991 and completed her Specialist Nursing (Midwifery) studies in Madrid in 1999. At the postgraduate level, she completed a Master's degree in Sex Education and Couples Sex Therapy at the University of Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, in 2007. She completed a Master in Nursing Education and Management in 2009, becoming an expert in qualitative care, focusing on culture, gender, sexuality, and society. She received her Ph.D. from the Universidad Europea de Madrid in 2012. Dr. Gómez-Cantarino has undertaken several international postdoctoral research stays and teaches Women's Nursing and cultural and qualitative aspects for Master and Ph.D. students. She maintains active European-funded projects with European and international Nursing Faculties. Research interests are Higher Education in Nursing, Sexual Health, Gender, and Cultural Competence. She has published in international peer-reviewed journals.
Juan Manuel Leyva-Moral: Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain
Juan M. Leyva-Moral is an associate professor at the Nursing Department at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain). He graduated from the Escola Università ria d'Infermeria Santa Madrona in 2002 and completed his master's degree at the University of Edinburgh in 2005. He got his Ph.D. from Universidad Europea de Madrid in 2010, becoming an expert in qualitative methods. In 2004 he got a postgraduate certification in HIV/AIDS. Recently he got his specialization as Community and Family Health Practitioner. Dr. Leyva teaches Community Nursing and Culture, Society and Health courses for undergraduates, and Qualitative Methods for master and doctoral students. In addition, he collaborates with several nursing schools worldwide and he is involved in research and teaching innovation projects. His research interests are sexual health, HIV/AIDS, global health, and cultural competence. He has published several peer-reviewed articles.
Patrick Palmieri: Universidad Norbert Wiener, Peru
Dr. Patrick Palmieri is an international nurse leader, global health expert, and research methodologist with more than 20 years of work experience in academia and industry. He was the first nationally certified nurse researcher by the Peruvian National Committee for Science, Technology, and Innovation at the highest level. Dr. Palmieri is a professor in the faculty of postgraduate studies and leader of the South American Center for Qualitative Research at the Universidad Norbert Wiener. In addition, he is the director of the EBHC South America: A JBI Affiliated Group. Through these academic and research leadership roles, Dr. Palmieri mentors students and novice researchers, contributes to projects as a methodologist, and advances his work in cross-cultural research, evidence synthesis, and psychometrics. He continues to publish high-quality research studies in leading scientific journals that other researchers cite. Dr. Palmieri earned a doctoral degree in global health from the Arizona School of Health Sciences (A.T. Still University). He completed a postdoctoral diploma in evidence-based health care at the University of Oxford. His other educational credentials include a Certificate of doctoral studies (Duke University); an Ed.S. in educational technology (University of Missouri); a Postgraduate certificate in teaching (University of Pennsylvania); an M.S.N. as an acute care nurse practitioner with a specialization in nephrology (Vanderbilt University); M.B.A. in leadership and B.A. in management (Saint Leo University); A.A. in liberal arts (Pasco-Hernando Community College). In addition, he completed three fully funded fellowships: Information Technology Fellowship in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (Duke University Health System), Executive Fellowship in Patient Safety (Virginia Commonwealth University), and Healthcare Administrative Fellowship (Avera Health). Finally, Dr. Palmieri was awarded an honorary doctoral degree, and he was the first Peruvian inducted as a fellow into the American Academy of Nursing and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery.
