BMC Psychology is calling for submissions to our Collection on Digital psychology.

This collection provides a venue for new research covering all aspects of digital psychology. Our goal is to expand the breadth of knowledge offered by the scholarship and provide a platform that could help laypersons manage a technology-laden lifestyle.

Pietro Cipresso: University of Turin, Italy

Dr. Pietro Cipresso is an Associate Professor of Psychometrics at University of Turin and an researcher in computational psychometrics. He is author of more than 300 publications and books like "Modeling Emotions at the Edge of Chaos," "Computing Paradigms for Mental Health," "The Psychology of Social Networking," and "Virtual Reality: Technologies, Medical Applications and Challenges." Dr. Cipresso was awarded the 2021 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Interactive Media Institute, honoring a person who has demonstrated outstanding lifetime achievements in the fields of advanced technologies and healthcare.

Ehsan Namaziandost: Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, Iran

Dr. Ehsan Namaziandost holds an MA degree in TEFL from Islamic Azad University of Ahvaz. He received his PhD in TEFL at Islamic Azad University, Shahrekord, Iran. His main interests of research are CALL, TEFL, Second Language Acquisition, Educational Psychology, Motivation and Anxiety, EFL Teaching and Learning, Language Learning and Technology, Teaching Language Skills, and Language Learning Strategies. His research papers and articles have been published by different international journals. Dr. Namaziandost is an international reviewer who did more than 1800 reviews, and handled 1000 papers as editor, up to now. 

About the collection

BMC Psychology is calling for submissions to our Collection on Digital Psychology.

Digital psychology has become one of the leading topics in psychological research. Recent publications examining the effect of digital technology on human lives identify the drawbacks of using such technology and encouraged health-seeking behaviors for individuals affected by it.

In this collection, BMC Psychology provides a venue for new research covering all aspects of digital psychology. Our goal is to expand the breadth of knowledge offered by the scholarship and provide a platform that could help laypersons manage a technology-laden lifestyle.

We welcome submissions that cover all aspects of this collection topic. Some of the general topics that authors could find relevant for this special issue can cover, but are not limited to:

  • screen time and mental health
  • nudging and influencing one’s decisions
  • the effect of technology on the attention span of individuals

This Collection welcomes submission of original Research Articles. Articles will undergo the journal’s standard peer-review process and are subject to all of the journal’s standard policies. Articles will be added to the Collection as they are published.

The Guest Editors have no competing interests with the submissions which they handle through the peer review process. The peer review of any submissions for which the Guest Editors have competing interests is handled by another Editorial Board Member who has no competing interests.
