We are pleased to announce that the special issue of Inflammation and Regeneration, entitled “COVID-19: Its Pathogenetic Mechanisms and Potential Therapeutics” has now published in the autumn of 2020. Obviously, the suppression of COVID-19 is an urgent task for all humankind, but even if this is achieved, we must be prepared for any future pandemics triggered by other pathogens. To do this, it is crucial to establish diagnostic, therapeutic, and prophylactic methods, including vaccines, for COVID-19. In this special issue, we invited 8 leading researchers to overview the cutting-edge COVID-19-related studies. In addition, we have opened a call for submissions reporting ongoing medical research in wide range of topics related to COVID-19.
This special issue includes articles related to i) The basic properties and epidemiology of SARS-CoV-2; ii) Pathological mechanisms of COVID-19, iii) Diagnosis of COVID-19 and detection of SARS-CoV-2 (8); iv) Potential therapeutics for COVID-19.
Here, we would like to make a most cordial acknowledgement to the researchers who contributed to this special issue and sincerely hope that these articles will provide novel insights for the suppression of COVID-19 and future pandemics.
