As an evolving field critical to our understanding of the biology of aging, cellular senescence is receiving increasing attention from researchers. However, the solid connections between cellular senescence and organismal aging are still unclear. The Cellular Senescence and Aging thematic series draws upon experts in this field and welcomes contributions that allow further characterization of senescent cell function at the level of the whole organism.
