Call for papers - Biomechanics of human movement

Guest Editor:
Abdelwahed Barkaoui: International University of Rabat, Morocco

Submission Status: Open   |   Submission Deadline: 15 May 2024

BMC Biomedical Engineering is calling for submissions to our Collection on biomechanics of human movement.

This Collection welcomes submissions on aspects of human movement biomechanics that can improve diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. This includes, but is not limited to, joint kinematics, compressive loads, movement and cartilage damage, and gait analysis. Articles on novel tools for the study of biomechanics of human movement are encouraged.

Abdelwahed Barkaoui: International University of Rabat, Morocco

Prof Abdelwahed Barkaoui is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering/Biomechanics at the International University of Rabat, Morocco. Currently assistant director of the LERMA laboratory and head of mechanical discipline at the renewable energy school, his research mainly targets problems in biomechanics, mechanobiology, and biomedical engineering. Prof Barkaoui is the author of three books on biomechanics: "Bone remodeling process", "Finite element method and medical imaging techniques in bone biomechanics", and "FEM analysis of the human knee joint: a review".

About the Collection

BMC Biomedical Engineering is calling for submissions to our Collection on biomechanics of human movement.

Understanding human movement biomechanics is pivotal to reducing movement impairment, treating movement-derived injuries and developing rehabilitative and preventive measures as well as prosthetic, orthotic and assistive devices.
