About the collection

Annals of Microbiology is calling for submissions to our Collection on 'Mechanobiology of biofilms.'
Biofilms are communities of microorganisms that live on a variety of surfaces and play a crucial role in the environment due to their resistance to stress.

This call for papers aims to explore the formation, growth and behavior of biofilms in response to internal and external mechanical cues. Topics of interest include cell-to-cell interactions, biofilm structure, dynamics and spreading, and emerging approaches for biofilm control.
