Neurological and degenerative conditions

Neurological and degenerative diseases

Neurological and degenerative conditions commonly change people's function and affect their ability to participate in many activities. Many neurological and degenerative conditions also result in lower limb, foot or gait changes. Similarly, there are disease processes that regularly present to health care providers that result in neurological or neuropathic changes at the foot and leg. This thematic series in Journal of Foot and Ankle Research (JFAR) will highlight research relating to these impacts.

Articles are invited that may address any of the following:

  • Foot, leg or gait changes relating to neurological and degenerative  conditions at all ages.
  • Prevention of neurological or neuropathic disease processes at the foot or leg.
  • How foot or leg changes relating to neurological and degenerative conditions impact participation and quality of life.
  • Research investigating the effectiveness of novel or established clinical practice for gait changes relating to neurological and degenerative conditions.
