Energy Technologies for the Environment and Sustainable Development

Energy, Sustainability and Society welcomes submissions to the thematic series on 'Energy Technologies for the Environment and Sustainable Development'.

The importance of energy sources is topic of conversation that will continue over the next few decades, as more people begin to realize the value of utilizing energy technologies to promote the sustainability of energy development, as opposed to attaining energy from sources that do not naturally regenerate.
Energy technology is an interdisciplinary engineering science. Simultaneously, it is also a rapidly developing technology that promises to deal with an efficient, safe, environmentally friendly and economical extraction, conversion, transportation, storage and use of energy, which is targeted towards yielding high efficiency whilst skirting side effects on humans, nature and the environment.

Advances in technology are the world's best bet for meeting increasing energy needs while protecting the environment. With ever-increasing concerns regarding energy and the environment, energy technologies and their emerging applications are one of the main themes in the field of energies.

Based on this importance, we are pleased to contribute to the exchange of opinions, discussions, and solutions to energy problems through our forum and the publication of our research. We wish to promote the exchange of mature and emerging technologies between different countries.

We believe this special issue will provide inspiration for everyone involved in the promotion of energy technology worldwide for the sake of the environment and sustainable development. Likewise, we hope it will be useful for furthering international cooperation and hence accelerating the development and economically sound deployment of the world’s energy sources.
