BMC Nursing is calling for submissions to our Collection on digitalization in support of the nursing profession.
Nurses comprise the largest group of professionals in the health care sector today with a vast number of nurses in diverse specializations. Nursing is vital to the functioning of the healthcare sector, a sector that is more and more dependent on various digital interventions and methods of work. To effectively use these interventions in the nursing process, nurses have an imperative to acquire the requisite knowledge, professional skills and experience to employ digital health methods.
A primary objective of this Collection is to foster focused attention on the fact that nurses, within their specialties, have a critical role in all digital health initiatives across the profession’s six core competencies: Patient-Centered Care, Teamwork and Collaboration, Evidence-based Practice, Quality Improvement, and Safety and Informatics. The nursing profession has a central role in the development, implementation, and evaluation of digital health interventions. This Collection will highlight the commitment of nurses all over the world as they contribute to the field of digital health.
BMC Nursing welcomes submissions that contribute to the understanding of the field of digital health from a clear nursing profession perspective. Submissions can address a broad array of topics across the practice, theory and research. The themes constitute, but are not limited to:
