Bio-Psycho-Social medicine in pediatrics

A large number of children and adolescents with emotion-related disorders including psychosomatic diseases, behavior problems, and school absenteeism have been affected by the materialistic trend of Japan. The Japanese Society of Psychosomatic Pediatrics has started several new projects, including multi-center research and the publication of practical guidelines. The featured articles in this series delve into the aspects of the problems of such children as they relate to bio-psycho-social medicine in the hope that we can create a more hopeful future for our children.
