More than 10 journals now encourage or require authors to consistently link publications to supporting data. Recently-reported research has suggested this practice may increase research impact in some scientific fields. |

Flavour and the New Nordic Cuisine is a seminar to celebrate the launch of Flavour, a new interdisciplinary journal from BioMed Central covering the psychophysical, psychological and chemical aspects of eating food, as mediated through all the senses. Speakers Per Møller, Ole Mouritsen and Lars Williams will discuss how we perceive taste and flavour, whilst describing new food and flavourings developed by Noma and the Nordic Food Lab for the New Nordic Cuisine. Towards a new psychiatry - a new cross-journal thematic series |
| In response to the forthcoming release of the DSM-5, a new cross-journal thematic series 'Towards a new psychiatry: Philosophical and ethical issues in classification, diagnosis and care' has been published. The series addresses the movement towards a new psychiatry resulting from influences of economic and socio-cultural forces, and advances in diagnostic techniques and neurotechnology. Authors are welcome to submit manuscripts for consideration for inclusion in this series until 31st December 2012. |
