Genome Biology has recently moved to a new website design, which provides a modern and easy-to-use interface for browsing journal content. To allow all users to explore and appreciate fully the benefits of the new website, all subscription content in the journal is free to access until June 30th 2010.
This year, Genome Biology is celebrating its 10th anniversary, marking the occasion by publishing a collection of exciting reviews and special content that discuss key developments in the genomics field over the last decade. This specially commissioned content, along with all articles in the Genome Biology archive, will be available to all users during June.
The themes of these reviews will also be discussed at Genome Biology's inaugural conference "Beyond the Genome: The true gene count, human evolution and disease genomics", which is being hosted in Boston in October. |

Most clinical trials for new drugs fail Phase II trials for efficacy. Gregory Petsko argues in his comment that such failures are a crucial resource for accelerating the development of new drugs for other targets.
In their research article, Jane Hurst and colleagues describe a male specific signalling molecule, 'darcin', in mouse urine that attracts females and is responsible for learned preference for specific males. |

Tumour protection mechanism revealed
Breast Cancer Research 2010, 12:R31
Understanding the inherent down-regulation of senescence pathways that offer breast cancer tumour-initiating cells protection against ionising radiation may help characterise the cellular pathways used by cancer stem cells to enhance survival.
