Prof Charles Spencer

Pediatric Rheumatology, the official publication of the Pediatric Rheumatology European Society (PReS) is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal encompassing all aspects of clinical and basic research related to pediatric rheumatology and allied subjects.

Charles H. Spencer is a Pediatric Rheumatologist and Professor of Pediatrics at Ohio State University and Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, USA. He is the Division Head of Pediatric Rheumatology at these two institutions and the Fellowship Program Director for the Division. He is a past Chairman of the Rheumatology Section and past Chairman of the Section Forum Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has been awarded the American College of Rheumatology Award for a Clinican Scholar Educator for creation of the open access photo website www.rheumatlas.org.

Dr. Spencer's clinical interests include juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus and juvenile dermatomyositis. He is working within the Children's Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance in these areas. He has also help develop and expand a well-regarded pediatric rheumatology center at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
