Molecular Pain considers manuscripts in pain research at the cellular, subcellular and molecular levels. Molecular Pain provides a forum for molecular pain scientists to communicate their research findings in a targeted manner to others in this important and growing field.
Molecular Pain provides rapid and open access publications for neuroscientists who are interested in basic mechanism of pain and nociceptive at molecular and systemic levels. We promote integrative neurobiological approaches to reveal novel pain mechanisms and potential drugs targets for future treatment of chronic pain in human beings.
Min Zhuo is a Professor of Physiology at the University of Toronto. He is the Michael Smith Chair in Neuroscience and Mental Health, and the Canada Research Chair in Pain and Cognition. He earned his B.A. degree in Biophysics from University of Science and Technology in China and Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology from University of Iowa. He received his postdoctoral trainings at Columbia University and Stanford University. He held a faculty position of full professor at Washington University in St. Louis, before he moved to University of Toronto.
Dr. Zhuo’s research interests are cellular and molecular mechanisms of synaptic plasticity, and implications of these plastic changes in physiological and pathological conditions. They include fear memory, fragile X disease, chronic pain and mood disorders. Dr Zhuo is the Editor of the first text book of Molecular Pain.
He was Chang Jiang (Li Ka Shing) Scholar in Fudan University, Shanghai (2005-2008) and is currently the WCU_Seoul National University visiting Professor, Korea. In 2009, he was elected to Fellow of Royal Society of Canada.
