Lipids in Health and Disease is an open access, peer-reviewed, online journal that publishes articles on all aspects of lipids: their biochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology, role in health and disease, and the synthesis of new lipid compounds.
There are few journals that give emphasis to lipids and even less that would encourage submissions about clinically relevant aspects of lipids in health and disease. BioMed Central has enabled us to create a high-quality journal, publishing only select material related to applied aspects of lipids, all of which is Open Access - an invaluable service
Undurti N Das graduated with a medical degree from Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, India, where he specialized in internal medicine. Since 1976 he has turned his attentions to clinical-orientated research, with specific interests in the role of polyunsaturated fatty acids, cytokines, nitric oxide, free radicals, and anti-oxidants in various clinical conditions especially in cancer, inflammatory conditions, metabolic syndrome X and schizophrenia. Undurti N Das has held several research positions including those in Osmania University, India, and Efamol Research Institute, Kentville, Canada; he is currently the Chairman and Research Director of the privately held biotech company EFA Sciences LLC, Massachusetts, USA, and Research Professor of Surgery and Nutrition at SUNY (State University of New York) Upstate Medical University, Syracuse, USA. Undurti N Das is the Editor-in-Chief of Lipids in Health and Disease.
