Multidisciplinary Respiratory Medicine is a peer-reviewed, open access journal encompassing all aspects of respiratory medicine. It has a particular focus on interdisciplinary and translational research. Multidisciplinary Respiratory Medicine is the official journal of the Italian scientific society AIMAR.
Dott. Claudio Sanguinetti is a senior consultant in respiratory medicine at the Quisisana Clinical Center in Rome, Italy. He had many teaching appointments in respiratory medicine at Ancona University, and now teaches in a degree course of the Catholic University in Rome.
He is a member of the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians and European Respiratory Society. He is a referee of the National Commission of the Ministry of Health for continuing medical education (CME), referee of European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP), and member representative of FISAR in the Council of Global Alliance against Respiratory Diseases, Italian Chapter (GARD-Italy) of the Italian Ministry of Health, under the umbrella of the World Health Organisation. In the past he has been Governor for Italy of the American College of Chest Physicians, Italian National Delegate to European Respiratory Society (ERS), and member of the School of ERS.
Dott Sanguinetti is current (2006-2012) Managing Director of Multidisciplinary Respiratory Medicine, the official scientific journal of AIMAR (Italian Interdisciplinary Association for Research in Lung Disease), and CEO of the non-profit Italian Foundation Health, Breath & Environment (FISAR). He is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Multidisciplinary Respiratory Medicine, and referee for many international scientific journals, including Chest, Respiration, Respiratory Medicine, Cochrane Collaboration and others.

He is author of hundreds of scientific publications, more than 80 cited in Medline, and several books and chapters covering many aspects of the respiratory field, like diffuse lung diseases, COPD, lung cancer and others. He is author of the Italian Treatise of Pneumology. He participated as speaker or chairman in many national and international congresses, courses, workshops etc., and was responsible for the scientific program and the organization of two national congresses of pneumology in Italy and many other conferences and workshops.
