Dr Gary Hellermann is a senior biological scientist at the University of South Florida College of Medicine (USA). His research is focused on new therapies for asthma, viral diseases and cancer. His chief specialty is his ability to comb the scientific literature for the most interesting, relevant and thought provoking research findings. Along with teaching a graduate course in Research Methods in Immunology he has written many papers that were published in peer-reviewed journals and grant proposals that were funded by the American Heart Association and NIH. He takes pride in working with the authors, particularly those who are non-native English speakers, to give to their writing that clarity and interest that often gets lost in the technical jargon.
