Chiropractic & Manual Therapies is ready to receive manuscripts on all aspects of evidence-based information that is clinically relevant to chiropractors, manual therapists and related health care professionals.

It is likely that our field of interest will change considerably in the next 20 years because of research. We can no longer just say about our therapies that "It works", as this begs the questions "by how much and compared to what". Similarly, diagnostic tests need to be refined or abandoned in the light of new evidence. Our journal will continue to publish sound science on these and other related topics to help inform clinical practice.

Dr Bruce Walker qualified as a chiropractor in 1975 and went into full time practice. In 1995 he gained a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a major in Epidemiology. In 2003 Bruce graduated with a Doctor of Public Health degree (DrPH) gained primarily by research on the epidemiology of low back pain. He is currently an academic at the School of Chiropractic and Sports Science, Murdoch University in Western Australia. His teaching experience includes the subjects of orthopaedics, physical therapy, biomechanics, research methodology, evidence-based practice and public health. His research publications include over 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals. His main research interest is spinal pain and manual therapies. Bruce has been Editor-in-Chief of the journal since 2005.

Bruce recognises that research will inform the future of chiropractic and manual therapies in general.
