Journal of Therapeutic Ultrasound encompasses all aspects of therapeutic ultrasound, namely, the stimulus, inhibition, or modification of tissue function or structure via insonification. This open access, peer-reviewed, online journal focuses mainly on translational and clinical research. The goal is to accelerate the adoption of therapeutic ultrasound as a clinical tool.
This online, open access journal enhances the spread of knowledge and provides free access to a greater audience. Open access publishing is currently encouraged by many of the leading institutions worldwide and is aligned with the Focused Ultrasound Foundation goal of accelerating the development and adoption of Focused Ultrasound for clinical usage.
Arik Hananel, BsCs, MD, MBA is the scientific and medical director of the Focused Ultrasound Foundation.
Before joining the Foundation, Dr. Hananel was a key member of the InSightec management and R&D team for more than 12 years, where he most recently served as director of international clinical research. He has helped manage multiple clinical studies, authored many papers on a variety of applications in the field of MR-guided focused ultrasound and has international patents in the field of MR-guided focused ultrasound.
Dr. Hananel received an MD and BsCs from the Tel Aviv University and an Executive MBA from the Recanati School of Business, (affiliated with Kellogg).
Dr. Hananel also is a visiting assistant professor of research in the department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Virginia and serves on the ISTU Board.
