Annals of Clinical Microbiology and Antimicrobials considers manuscripts on all aspects of clinical microbiology, infectious diseases and antimicrobials.
Submitted manuscripts can report on: any aspect of diagnosis of infectious diseases; biological aspects of infectious diseases; case management and antimicrobial treatment; antibiotic development and antimicrobial resistance.
The average time from submission to a first decision is 35 days.
Open access journals facilitate the widespread dissemination of manuscripts all around the world. Also being an editor, I am particularly impressed with BioMed Central's publication process; they publish manuscripts rapidly post-acceptance, and have a reliable archiving system. Also BioMed Central assist peer review by providing editors with a list of publications in PubMed that are similar to the manuscript in hand, which leads to more efficient peer review.
