Health Information Science and Systems is a multidisciplinary journal that aims to integrate computer science/information technology with health science and services, embracing information science research coupled with topics related to the modeling, design, development, integration, and management of health information systems.
Professor Yanchun Zhang is the Director of the Centre for Applied Informatics at Victoria University, Australia and is the winner of 2005 Victoria University Vice-Chancellor's Medal for Excellence in Research. His research interests include database and information systems, distributed databases, web and internet technologies, web information systems, web data management, web mining, web search, web services, and e-Research. He has published over 200 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings, and authored/edited over a dozen books, proceedings and journal special issues.
In addition to being Editor-In-Chief of Health Information Science and Systems, he is also co-Editor-in-Chief of World Wide Web: Internet and Web Information Systems, the Editor of the Web Information Systems Engineering and Internet Technologies Book Series and the Chairman of Web Information Systems Engineering (WISE) Society. He is the Australian representative of the International Federation of Information Processing (IFIP)'s Working Group WG6.4 on Internet Applications Engineering and a communication expert panel member of Cheung Kong Scholars Program from the Ministry of Education of China (since 2006).
