Alexander Dobrovic
Molecular Pathology Research and Development Laboratory, Department of Pathology
Alexander Dobrovic is an Editorial Board Member for BMC Cancer, BMC Blood Disorders and BMC Research Notes and is a Professor at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Molecular Pathology, which detects the multiple genetic and epigenetic changes that underlie tumour development, has become the key discipline in the development of personalised (also known as individualised) treatment of cancer. Dr Dobrovic's lab is involved both in basic research in this area and in working with clinicians to develop robust new tests relevant to patient management and to the choice of appropriate therapies. His team has a particular focus on DNA methylation which inactivates multiple genes that normally act to block carcinogenesis.
