What prompted you to submit a paper to a BioMed Central journal?

Three things prompted me to submit an article: the fact that interested people can read the article without having to pay for it; the promise of a quick turnaround for the manuscript; and the fact that publication is based on the validity of research.

What was your assessment of the electronic submission and peer review process?

It worked well.

What do you think you gained from publishing in an open access journal?

The short time it takes to publish or reject a manuscript is helpful to a researcher. Open access is appealing in terms of providing access to information to all.
